Physical therapists can also work as traveling practitioners.
Depending upon the employment setting, or types of patients seen, physical therapists may work full-time, part-time, weekends, evenings and holidays.
They may even be on call. For example, the physical therapist may be called to set up traction or treat burns at any hour for a hospital or trauma center.
Most physical therapy is provided during the day or early evening hours, and seven days per week in hospital and rehabilitation settings.
