This program accepts students from the most underserved Kentucky counties and works to improve their ability to get admitted to health professional school.
Admissions people in Kentucky note that any student who has done PEPP who has even a chance of graduating is given a chance.
There are few failures in PEPP. Even those who do not get into medical or dental school often serve in other health professions or professional careers.
PEPP has also managed to find funding for additional students beyond the usual sources of funding.
It is often difficult to find information about PEPP and there was only one published study. The program has continued for over 3 decades.
