I wanted to thank everyone who has replied to this list serve for encouraging
me in my decision to become an FP. I love emergency medicine, but I also love
continuity of care. It makes me glad to know that I can practice family
medicine in a rural setting and be able to do some emergency work as well. I'm
in a huge academic facility surrounded by Emergency Medicine Physicians
(...better not call them 'ER docs') so I don't receive a lot of support for my
family medicine decision.
