There is about a 5000 - 10000 higher parent income in matriculants compared to applicants, about 10% difference in each of the groups above. Applicant income was the only data available for the Asian subgroups so this was used on all.
Regional Choice of Family Medicine - the line is actually even straighter than it seems. Controlling for regional choice of family medicine moves Vietnamese and Mexican American family medicine choice down and Puerto Rican, Other Hispanic, and Black choice up.

There is still impact of ethnicity, race, MCAT or education beyond just parent income as seen in the shift left and shift right away from the line through the scatterplots.
