When Helping You Helps Me by Murray Soupcoff  Intro by Soupcoff: When will America’s "caring" activists of the left ever learn?  Never have so few individuals with so many good intentions created so much misery for so many people whom they wanted to help. As the social-engineering debacles of the last half century in the United States have demonstrated, carelessness in "caring" for the disadvantaged in our society only leads to a glaringly uncaring result. http://www.washingtondispatch.com/article_3866.shtml

McKnight Message inspiring to Quakers I wouldn't suggest a "secular" book for the Meeting Newsletter if it didn't somehow tie into Quakerism. John McKnight's The Uncaring Society makes no reference to Quakers but manages nevertheless to offer an uncanny connection to the Society of Friends. http://danenet.danenet.org/mmm/committees/news/mcknight.htm
