Overview
The Psychopharmacology Research
Consortium is
a division of the University of Nebraska Department of Psychiatry. The Department combines
the teaching, research, and clinical service activities in psychiatry for the College of
Medicine of the University of Nebraska Medical Center. We are located in Omaha, Nebraska
and provide medical services for an extended area of eastern Nebraska and western Iowa.
The Psychopharmacology Research
Consortium was
organized in 1984 to investigate pharmacologic approaches to the treatment of mental disorders.
The
Consortium works in conjunction with the National
Institutes of Health (NIH) as well as pharmaceutical companies
in the evaluation of potentially innovative treatments for a wide range of disorders in adults and
children. All studies are approved by the University of Nebraska Institutional Review
Board which serves to protect the rights of persons who participate in research
studies.
