VISION: To be a premier department recognized nationally and internationally for excellence in biomedical education, research and clinical care.
MISSION: To develop, convey and apply knowledge to further the science and practice of pathology and microbiology.
EDUCATION: Educate and train health professionals in the disciplines of pathology and microbiology and promote lifelong learning and professional growth of faculty, staff and learners.
RESEARCH: Foster innovation, creativity and excellence in basic, translational and applied research in the disciplines of pathology and microbiology.
CLINICAL CARE: Provide excellence in leadership and cost effective health care.
PUBLIC SERVICE: Provide leadership in public services through creation of effective working relationships and superior information systems between clinical, academic and public health laboratories.
ADMINISTRATIVE: Provide leadership locally at UNMC and The Nebraska Medical Center and nationally and internationally in scientific and medical organizations. |
