On-going research projects are concerned with the following: 1) Examining the importance of adhesins of Staphylococcus epidermidis in the pathogenesis of prosthetic device infections, 2) Characterizing phase variation of S. epidermidis, 3) clinical studies of developmental antimicrobics and novel devices, 4) Numerous projects in infection control/healthcare epidemiology/Antimicrobial Stewardship
