My laboratory is interested in the regulation of sympathetic tone by angiotensin II and nitric oxide in heart failure. We are using a dog and rat model of chronic heart failure and are investigating cardiac reflexes which may contribute to sympatho-excitation in the heart failure state. Classical neurophysiological and cardiovascular techniques are used. These include hemodynamic, neural stimulation and receptor blockade and binding techniques.
