| All new and existing UNMC and The Nebraska Medical Center employees who handle or have responsibility for managing universal waste are required by regulation to complete annual Universal Waste and Specific Hazardous Waste Training. Universal Waste includes batteries (non-alkaline), pesticides, mercury containing items, lamps and electronic items. Individuals who pick up and remove this waste by bringing it to its appropriate storage location must adhere to all the regulatory storage, disposal and emergency response requirements. | |||
