Research Assistant

This title is typically used as a part-time (<.50 FTE) employment for undergraduate or professional students to provide exposure to the environment of research with the hope that it will lead to interest on the part of the student to enter the field of research upon completion of studies, or will augment their current academic program. 

Position may also be used for temporary, full-time, appointments set for a specific number of weeks to work on a research project of mutual interest to trainee and researcher.
