Frequently Asked Questions
Q How do I  apply for admission to the DPT program?
A First, read the information about Admission Requirements to see if you qualify for admission. If you do, you may apply online using the PTCAS application at http://www.ptcas.org/. Only on-line applications will be accepted. In addition to the centralized application, applicants will be required to complete a UNMC supplemental application. Applicants have previously attended one of the University of Nebraska campuses, they are required to pay an application fee ($45.00) each time they apply.

Q When are applications available, and when are the application materials due?
A Applications will be available to apply online between July 15th and October 15th each year. The deadline for application is October 15th, and all application materials (including transcripts, GRE scores, and letters of recommendation) must be received by PTCAS by that date.

Q What information does the admissions committee consider in evaluating applications?
A The committee evaluates grade point averages (required course GPA and overall GPA), scores on the GRE, written and verbal communication skills (as assessed by written application materials, and personal interviews), extracurricular activities and general work experience, and personal references.

Q Is a personal interview required for admission?
A Yes, a personal interview is a requirement for admission. A limited number of applicants will be offered personal interviews based on evaluation of the applications materials submitted.

Q Do you accept non-residents?
A Yes. Qualified applicants are encouraged to apply regardless of residency, though preference is given to applicants who are current residents of Nebraska. Questions regarding residency status should be directed to the Office of Academic Records (402/559-6468).

A

No.  Only U.S. citizens, permanent U.S. residents, and Canadian citizens are eligible for admission. All prerequisite coursework must be completed at an accredited U.S. institution.
