Clinical Laboratory Science Program
Applicants

I have applied to the program, now what?

If you completed your application on-line, you may go back into the system and review your application's status. A checklist is provided that is updated by the Office of Academic Records when they receive your required materials. They update these records several times a week.

If you have faxed or emailed unoffical copies of your college transcripts to the CLS program, you still must send offical ones for your application to be complete.

Please do not contact the CLS program directly to check on your application status, we will refer you to the on-line application system. Please be patient, it takes time to update the system.

The admissions committee will review your application once it is complete, to see if you have met all the admission requirements. You will be contacted by the CLS Program to schedule an interview and the committee will select the best qualified applicants to fill the positions.

After your interview has been completed:

  • Print off the following hand-out and please read carefully: CLS Info Sheet
  • Send transcripts for all Final Fall grades to CLS office, Fax to 402-559-9044. These do not have to be offical.
  • Return your Site Preference Form.
  • Immunizations & Medical History. UNMC has NEW Immunization Requirements. It is important that you start collecting the required information and receiving necessary immunizations.
    • Chicken Pox: approximate date, or 2 vaccinations, or positive titer
    • TB Skin Test: negative skin test 1-6 months prior to matriculation or results of treatment for positive titer
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis: receipt of D/T/P or Adacel within last 2 years
    • MMRs: 2 MMRs or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B: 3 vaccinations AND positive Titer
    • Polio: last date of series
  • Foreign Students, send in TOEFL grades to CLS Office.

Letters of Acceptance, Alternate, Hold and Not-Accepted will be mailed early January.

  • Acceptance: student must return form accepting or declining your position.
  • Alternate: student will be considered for placement if an opening becomes available.
  • Hold: we are waiting for Fall or Spring mid-term grades before making a decision on alternate status.
