Admission requirements for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
Candidates for the DMS Program must meet the following requirements for possible admission:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Completion of an accredited Radiography and/or Nuclear Medicine Program.
-Students who are in their final months of study are eligible to apply.
3. Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine
Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
-Students must have this certification by the matriculation date.
4. Completion of 35 hours of specific college prerequisites.
-Grades lower than "C" will not transfer to UNMC for credit. Students are encouraged to consult with
the program director regarding their specific prerequisite requirements. College prerequisites and
program requirements are subject to change.

5. Completion of DMS specific requisites.
-These courses may be included as part of a radiography or nuclear medicine program. They must be
completed prior to graduation from the DMS program.
