Medical Nutrition Education Program

The UNMC Dietetic Internship Program is offered through the Medical Nutrition Education Division of the UNMC School of Allied Health Professions and is currently granted accreditation status by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the American Dietetic Association. The competency based curriculum meets the supervised practice component requirements for dietetics education, addressing all generalist program competencies and providing an emphasis in nutrition therapy.

Graduates of the program are well prepared for careers in dietetics and nutrition and are eligible to take the national registration examination for dietitians administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing agency for the American Dietetic Association.
