Certification & Licensure
To become a Registered Dietitian (RD):
Graduates of the UNMC Dietetic Internship Program are eligible to take a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), the credentialing agency for The American Dietetic Association.
Twenty-eight (28) UNMC Dietetic Internship Program graduates have taken the national examination during the past five-year period (2007-2011). Twenty-seven (27) of these graduates passed the test on the first try, yielding a 96% first-time pass rate.

To become a Licensed Medical Nutrition Therapist (LMNT) in Nebraska:
Nebraska is one of more than forty states with legislation regulating the practice of dietetics. State licensure and state certification are entirely separate and distinct from registration or certification by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Graduates of the UNMC Dietetic Internship Program who have become Registered Dietitians are eligible to apply for licensure in Nebraska.
