MRI Mission & Goals

Mission Statement

The Division of Radiation Science Technology Education provides a premier educational environment that prepares competent radiation science professionals who demonstrate the highest quality of patient care and service.


To uphold our Mission, the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Program has the following goals:
Goal 1: Students will be clinically competent.
Student Learning Outcomes:

   Students will learn to obtain diagnostic MR images with the highest concern for patient safety.
   Students will select appropriate equipment for proper image acquisition.
   Students will utilize protocols for acquiring images to the specification of physician requests and diagnostic needs.

Goal 2: Students will demonstrate effective communication skills.
Student Learning Outcomes:

   Students will demonstrate effective written communication skills.
   Students will demonstrate effective oral communication skills.

Goal 3: Students will develop critical thinking skills.

   Students will learn demonstrate appropriate optimization techniques.
   Students will critique MR images to determine diagnostic quality.
