The Charles R. O’Malley Charitable Lead Trust, administered by the New York Community Trust, provided the lead gift for the SAHP Capital Campaign in October 2010. The $500,000 Charles R. O’Malley Endowed Chair in Radiation Science Technology Education (RSTE) is the first endowed chair in the history of the SAHP.
The O’Malley Trust has proposed a unique “matching” model intended to stimulate additional gifts to create five professorships for the SAHP over the remaining four years of the capital campaign. The O’Malley Trust has committed to provide an additional $700,000 in funding if “matched” by $450,000 in funding from other donors. This funding would create four new professorships that would be named according to the “matching” donor, and complete the funding for the existing SAHP Endowed Professorship for Teaching Excellence and Innovation.* Table 1 depicts the conditions of the matching model.
| Table 1 | O'Malley Gift | "Match" |
| Professorship | $150,000 | $100,000 |

M. Patricia Leuschen, PhD, Assistant Dean for Research Development in the SAHP, has made the initial matching gift of $100,000 to establish the M. Patricia & James W. Leuschen Professorship for Advancing Research in the Allied Health Sciences.
Jack Turman, Jr, PhD, Director of the SAHP’s Physical Therapy Education Program, created the “Flourish Project” upon his arrival to UNMC in the fall of 2010. Modeled after his successful program at USC, the project implements a variety of community-based strategies to improve birth outcomes in vulnerable populations. Since the project began, it has generated over $85,000 in start-up gifts.
In addition to the Flourish Project, the SAHP’s capital campaign priorities include the Virtual Environment Therapeutic Radiotherapy (VERT) project and the Digital Slide Technology Project.
Eleven works of art donated by Dr. Jim and Karen Linder now grace the walls of Bennett Hall, home of the School of Allied Health Professions. The pieces were specifically selected by the Linders to match the architecture of the building. Bennett Hall is one of several buildings on campus that has benefited from the Linders’ love of art and generosity.
On September 1, 2011, Karen acknowledged the individual artists and offered a history of each piece in a "Virtual Artwalk" presentation to the SAHP faculty and staff. Afterward, Kyle Meyer, PT, PhD, Senior Associate Dean of the SAHP, presented the Linders with an appreciation gift followed by a reception.
