The Distance Learning Program consists of 36 semester credit hours of educational and clinical experiences intended to be completed over five semesters. The following constitutes the recommended plan of study:

Semester 1
SAHP 626 Health Care Ethics & Critical Thinking (Fall only) - 3 credit hours
PHAS 785 Advanced Supervised Clinical Practice I - 4 credit hours
(4 credit hours of clinical practice = 160 hours per semester in a specialty concentrated area.)

Semester 2
SAHP 631 Health Care Management (Spring only) - 3 credit hours
PHAS 786 Advanced Supervised Clinical Practice II - 4 credit hours

Semester 3
PHAS 680 Health Care Policy (Summer only) - 3 credit hours
PHAS 681 Candian Health Care Policy (Summer only) - 3 credit hours
PHAS 787 Advanced Supervised Clinical Practice III - 4 credit hours

Semester 4
PHAS 682 Scientific Writing - 3 credit hours
PHAS 788 Advanced Supervised Clinical Practice IV - 4 credit hours

Semester 5
PHAS 790 Masters Project - 4 credit hours
PHAS 799 Advanced Supervised Clinical Practice V - 4 credit hours

*For those who would prefer a concentration in Educational Methodology, an education track is being developed as an alternative to the clinical track. Please note that the education track is currently under development and is not available at this time. Please contact the PA Distance Learning Program program for more information.

Advanced Supervised Clinical Practice
To complete the clinical track of this program, students are required to complete and document a total of 800 clinical hours (160 hours each semester) in a specific concentration area. Your concentration area should be based on the type of clinic/practice in which you are employed (i.e., family medicine, geriatrics, internal medicine, etc.). Note: Each semester is 14-16 weeks in length.
