Job Title   Aquatic Rehab Technician - Job ID #45438
Location   Omaha, NE
Description   Aquatic Rehab Technician Mon-Sat, 6am-8:30pm, PRN as needed Receives work assignments and information concerning the preparation for, and performance of class and therapy activities from the Aquatic Therapy Coordinator and designated therapists. May provide set up and supervision, as directed by a therapist, for routine treatments such as: gait training, exercise and the application of hot and cold packs; using techniques in a safe and acceptable manner. Observes patients during treatments and notifies Therapist of any physical distress or equipment malfunctioning. Prepares/positions patient for a treatment or evaluation, as directed by a therapist. Obtains necessary equipment, materials and supplies from storage areas and prepares them for use. Assist therapist in treatment regimen as needed. Leads water exercise programs for the community according to established guidelines. Supervises open pool program. Performs clerical functions to include: class and patient registration, scheduling, charge entry, faxing, photocopying and delivery of therapy notes/records to the appropriate physician(s) or other hospital personnel. Experience Aquatics and/or fitness background preferred. Education/Licensure Nebraska Swimming Pool Operator License required within 2 months of hire. BLS or BLS instructor certification is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: American Red Cross: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, American Safety and Health Institute: CPR, PRO, must say ¿Professional Level-with AED, and American Heart Association: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers. Prefer an education background equivalent to a high school diploma. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Good interpersonal skills. Good oral and written communication skills. Able to show empathy and compassion towards patients. Job requires frequent reading, writing and verbal communication skills. Incumbents must possess knowledge of how to provide care to a diverse population of patients and the ability to communicate and work with people from a variety of age-groups, social strata and ethnic backgrounds.
