What is a vascular interventional technologist?

Vascular Interventional Technology (VIT) is an integral and advancing component of diagnostic and therapeutic radiologic procedures.  VIT involves specialized radiographic techniques used in angiography, interventional procedures (i.e. angioplasty), and central venous access procedures.  

The VIT Technologist is a key member of the radiology team that performs vascular and interventional procedures. These procedures are unique in that they require the integration of technical, radiologic, and clinical skills.
