The UNMC College of Medicine Parents and Family Association is an organization comprised of parents and family members of students enrolled at the UNMC College of Medicine. This association was founded to Enhance communication between parents and family members of COM students, the college and the university.
The purpose of the association is to:
- Promote and support networking with COM administrators and alumni.
- Support collaboration and social interaction between parents and family members of COM students, student organizations and the university.
- Provide a support network for parents and family members of COM students.
- Inform parents and family members of COM students of college and campus updates and changes.

Class of 2016 White Coat Ceremony - August 17, 2012
UNMC alumni donate white coats to the incoming students at a ceremony held the Friday before school starts. The white coat ceremony symbolizes entrance into the medical profession.
