UNMCThe University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha is an academic health science center that includes colleges of medicine, nursing, dentistry, and pharmacy; allied health programs, a graduate studies and research program, a University hospital, a rehabilitation institute, a cancer research institute, and a medical staff group practice. UNMC also has a completely renovated medical library and media facilities.

The Nebraska Medical Center is comprised of Clarkson Hospital and University Hospital. A total of 20,000 anesthetics are performed yearly. The Nebraska Medical Center is a tertiary care facility licensed for 735 beds. This facility in cooperation with Creighton University Medical Center provides Omaha and its surrounding communities with the only level one trauma coverage in the region. The hospital supports a range of medical specialties and subspecialties and is known internationally, nationally and regionally for its efforts in solid organ and bone marrow transplantation. Other areas of excellence include cardiology, oncology, neuroscience, high risk obstetrics, neonatology, genetics and geriatrics.

Veterans' Administration Medical Center

Veterans' Administration Medical Center provides a broad range of acute medical, surgical and psychiatric care. It is licensed for 226 beds and administers almost 2,000 anesthetics every year. The VA Medical Center has six operating rooms and is staffed by surgeons from both UNMC and Creighton University.

Children's Hospital & Medical Center

Children's Hospital & Medical Center is a private pediatric hospital licensed for 100 beds. As a regional referral center it treats children with a variety of secondary and tertiary pediatric conditions. Children's administers 8,200 anesthetics in its five operating rooms each year. Children's' medical staff consists of general pediatricians and family physicians in private practice as well as pediatricians and subspecialists from UNMC.

Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital

Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital is the only specialty orthopaedic hospital in the State of Nebraska. Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital has 26 inpatient beds, 8 operating rooms and performs over 6250 anesthetics a year. NOH received certification by the Joint Commission in 2007 and is consistently rated as one of the top hospitals in the region in overall patient care as reported by the CMS/Hospital Compare Patient Experience Results. NOH performs a wide range of orthopaedic procedures including sports medicine, joint replacement, upper extremity, foot, ankle and spine care.
