Medical & Nursing Clinical Rotations Program

Medical

Since 2005, the Asia Pacific Rim Development Program has taken part in a medical student exchange with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. Each year, UNMC sends two to six third-year medical students to the Shanghai university for one-month clinical training sessions.  The Shanghai university sends six third-year medical students to UNMC each September for three months of clinical rotations.

• Total number of Shanghai Jiao Tong medical students to UNMC: 18
• Total number of UNMC medical students to Shanghai Jiao Tong: 18

In 2010, UNMC signed an agreement with Tongji University and began accepting medical students from Tongji for summer clinical rotations.

• Total number of Tongji University medical students to UNMC: 9

Nursing

Since 2005, the Asia Pacific Rim Development Program has taken part in a nursing student exchange with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. Each year, UNMC sends four nursing students for one month of nursing training, and Shanghai Jiao Tong sends four nursing students to UNMC for one month.
