Kicks for a Cure PresentationThe 2008 Kicks For A Cure women's soccer exhibition weekend was held April 18th and 19th and was a phenomenal success, raising $150,000 to benefit Liz's Legacy. The funds will be used for research in the areas of women's cancer at The Eppley Cancer Center and the Hereditary Cancer Center at Creighton University.  The Liz's Legacy Fund was started by former Nebraska senator David Karnes and his daughters Korey, Kalen, Kara and Laurel, in honor of their wife and mother, the late Dr. Liz Karnes, who died of ovarian cancer in 2003.

The check presentation was done Friday evening, April 18, at a dinner at the Mutual of Omaha Dome. Shown in the photo are (from left) Drs. Hamid and Vimla Band of the Eppley Cancer Center, Dr. Henry Lynch of Creighton University, Korey Karnes, daughter of the late Liz Karnes, and a representative from First National Bank of Omaha. At the podium is David Karnes.

The Eppley Cancer Center would like to thank the sponsors, committee members, volunteers, players, coaches and fans who made this event such a success!

    The 4th annual Kicks For A Cure will be April 17th & 18th, 2009.
