Core Facilities Core facilities, sometimes called shared resources, provide sophisticated, expensive technology and expertise that no single lab would have the financial resources to purchase and learn. These fee-for-service resources help investigators maximize productivity by providing access to technologies, services and scientific consultation at a reasonable cost. Core facilities also provide stability, reliability, cost-effectiveness and quality control that would be difficult to achieve otherwise.
Faculty Handbook This handbook was compiled by the University of Nebraska Medical Center Faculty Senate as a resource to policies, procedures, regulations, and other information which relates to faculty and their staff.
Faculty Senate The UNMC Faculty Senate is a group of faculty elected from each major academic unit with responsibilities defined by the Bylaws of the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska. The Senate serves as the governing body empowered to represent the UNMC faculty.
Information Technology Services Helpdesk, training, workstation support, research/educational/administrative computing, web services, email, networking and systems support.
Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)'s primary function is to assist faculty, students and staff in upholding UNMC and UNO's determination to assure the finest care and most humane utilization of laboratory animals.
Institutional Review Board (IRB) The Institutional Review Board (IRB) has been established to assure the protection of all human subjects in research projects conducted by anyone on the premises of the University of Nebraska Medical Center and to research conducted elsewhere by faculty, students, staff, or other representatives of the University of Nebraska Medical Center in connection with their institutional responsibilities.
Intellectual Property Office (IPO) The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) offers resources and services to faculty and industry to support their pursuit of information and technologies involved in the licensing and commercialization of UNMC's intellectual property.
Learning Environment and Internet Services A resource available to faculty to assist them in converting their curriculum to computer-delivered instruction. Hardware and software development tools are available, as well as multimedia-ready classrooms. Consultants are available to assist you.
McGoogan Library of Medicine Print and audiovisual materials, interlibrary loan (of materials not owned by McGoogan), educational services (group sessions or private consultations), online database access (on and off campus), subject-oriented web guides.
Sponsored Programs Administration The Sponsored Programs Administration offers resources and services to faculty and grant administrators to support their pursuit and management of external funding.
