Guidelines for Abstract Submission

How to Prepare Your Abstract File

Please follow the guidelines below. Remember, each presenter may only submit ONE abstract and the presentation format must be declared at the time of submission.

  1. All abstracts must be in the English language.
  2. Abstracts must be submitted online in .doc or .docx format.  The title of the file must include the presenter's name (e.g., Smith_MSBRF_abstract.docx).
  3. The entire abstract must fit on only ONE page.
    Paper Size: 8.5" x 11" (letter size)
    Margins: 0.5 (top, bottom, left, and right)
    Font Size: 10-12 pt
  4. Simple tables or graphs, in black ink, may be included as long as they fit within the required ONE page format.
  5. The entire title must be made as brief as possible and should be written in CAPITAL LETTERS.
  6. The authors names (with the participant's name underlined), the name of the participant's school or hospital (not necessarily where the research was carried out), the city and state must be mentioned. DO NOT mention support of work by a research grant, and DO NOT mention the participants' degrees, titles, institutional appointments, street addresses, or ZIP codes.
  7. Organize the body as follows:
    PURPOSE - one sentence if possible
    METHODS AND MATERIALS
    RESULTS
    CONCLUSIONS
  8. Nonproprietary (generic) names, written in small letters, are required the first time a drug is mentioned. Proprietary names are always capitalized.

IMPORTANT:
The MSBRF Committee will NOT edit abstracts for typing, spelling, or grammatical errors. Please carefully proof all text for errors before submitting your abstract.
