Research education is a primary mission of the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), and this has resulted in strong programs to support this mission. UNMC has experienced an unprecedented growth in its health professions and graduate training programs, increasing from 3000 to 3600 enrolled students just over the last year. UNMC also has a wealth of extramurally funded CTR ―pipeline programs that continue to attract students from a multitude of under-represented populations/groups into UNMC‘s health professions and research training programs. Because UNMC has 5 campuses, most graduate courses for health professionals are available by distance education.
