Concentration Areas

Students select one of the following areas of concentration:

  • Biostatistics
  • Community Oriented Primary Health
  • Environmental and Occupational Health
  • Epidemiology
  • Health Policy
  • Health Promotion
  • Maternal and Child Health
  • Public Health Administration
  • Public Health Practice
  • Social Marketing and Health Communication

Courses

A total of 45 credit hours is required for the MPH degree. All students take the following core courses (21 credit hours):

  • Foundations in Public Health
  • Health Behavior
  • Health Services Administration
  • Public Health, Environment, and Society
  • Epidemiology
  • Applied Research in Public Health
  • Biostatistics

The remaining MPH requirements include:

  • Four concentration courses (12 credit hours)
  • Service Learning/Capstone Experience (six credit hours)
  • Two electives (six credit hours)
