Overview of the Research and Development Committee

The Research and Development Committee currently consists of 11 faculty members  whose duties and responsibilities include: 

  • Receive and review applications to the Dean's Indirect Cost Program and give recommendation to the Dean
  • Recommend policies and procedures for the preparation of applications and receipt of grants from the Faculty of the College of Medicine
  • Administer the College of Medicine Student Summer Research Program
  • Evaluate nominations for the Joseph P. Gilmore Distinguished New Investigator Award and give recommendation to the Dean
Receive and review thesis proposals and M.D. Honors Thesis and advise the Scholastic Evaluation Committee on the acceptability of M.D. theses for Honors designation
