How much will it cost to house and care for your animals?

Per diem rates are set on July 1st of each year and are based on animal species and the type of housing required. Additional services provided by Comparative Medicine include, but are not limited to: technician assistance, special project support, animal transport, supplies and ordering assistance. Cost accounting is based upon annual review of past budget reports and the NCRR Cost Analysis/ Rate Setting Manual for Animal Research Facilities. An annual per diem survey of peer institutions is also conducted to keep our rates competitive.
