Dr. Gobetti is a former director and professor of undergraduate Oral Medicine / Oral diagnosis at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Retiring in 2007, he is an active professor emeritus. Dr. Gobetti obtained his D.D.S. degree and his M.S. degree in Oral Diagnosis and Radiology from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He is board certified in oral medicine since and a Fellow of The International College of Dentists.

Dr. Gobetti presents continuing education course throughout the United States and is active in consulting and forensic dentistry.

Pain Control and Analgesics

Course Description
The course covers the physiologic and psychological basis of pain, evaluation of pain, pain medications, uses and indications. The course covers narcotics and non-narcotic pain management along with alternative methods of pain control.


Course Objectives

At the completion of this course participants will be able to evaluate the patient's level of pain; will know the pathophysiologic basis of pain; will know the indications and contraindications of analgesic usage; and will be able to provide pain control for their patients.
