Dr. Schilling

Distinguished Service Award: Dr. Richard Schilling, 1957

Dr. Richard Schilling lives in Loveland, Colorado, and practiced general dentistry in Loveland until he retired.  He is an alumnus from the Class of 1957.  Dr. Schilling has provided humanitarian dental work in Africa, South America, and Siberia and is a published master water colorist as well. 

Dr. Barkmeier

Alumni Achievement Award: Dr. Wayne Barkmeier, 1969

Dr. Wayne Barkmeier lives in Elkhorn, Nebraska.  He is Dean Emeritus and Professor at Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska.  Dr. Barkmeier is an alumnus from the Class of 1969.  He and his classmates will be this year’s 45 year honor class and will be recognized at the UNMC College of Dentistry Alumni Homecoming Reunion.

Dr. Henry St. Germain, Jr.

Honorary Life Membership Award: Dr. Henry St. Germain, Jr, 1975

Dr. Henry St. Germain, Jr., lives in Lincoln, Nebraska, and is an Associate Professor and former Department Chairman of the Department of Adult Restorative Dentistry at the UNMC College of Dentistry.  He received his D.M.D.degree from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1975.

Dr. Myron Pudwill

Outstanding Teaching Award: Dr. Myron Pudwill 

Dr. Myron Pudwill lives in Lincoln Nebraska, and is a part-time faculty member and former Assistant Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs at the UNMC College of Dentistry.  He and his classmates from the Class of 1964 will be this year’s 50 year honor class and will be recognized at the UNMC College of Dentistry Alumni Homecoming Reunion.






Award Nominations
Do you know alumni or others who deserve recognition for their outstanding contributions and/or service to the College of Dentistry, CODAA, or their communities? Nominate them for one of the following CODAA Awards.

Alumni Achievement Award
Presented to College of Dentistry alumni with a record of outstanding achievements in their dental or dental hygiene careers and/or civic involvement. Voting members of the CODAA are not eligible for this award during their tenure as a Board member.

Distinguished Service Award
Presented to College of Dentistry alumni on the basis of their contributions and/or service to the CODAA or the College of Dentistry. Voting members of the CODAA are not eligible for this award during their tenure as a Board member.

Honorary Life Membership Award
Presented to someone who demonstrates or has demonstrated exceptional service to the UNMC College of Dentistry or the CODAA. The recipient need not be a graduate of the College of Dentistry.

Outstanding Educator Award
Presented to someone who demonstrates or has demonstrated exceptional service as a full-time or part-time faculty member of the College of Dentistry. The recipient need not be a graduate of the College of Dentistry. This award can be made to a previous recipient, but there must be a ten-year interval between those awards.


Nomination Process
To nominate a person for any of these awards, please send a short (one typed page or less) description of the person's achievements, service activities or other contributions which make them eligible for receiving the award. Include your (nominator's) name and contact information. Nominations are accepted continuously and the CODAA Board of Directors selects award winners annually.
