Dr. Julie Marshall is an associate professor in the department of Adult Restorative Dentistry at UNMC College of Dentistry. She obtained her DDS from the University of Texas in 1987. She received her Certificate of Specialty/Prosthodontics as well as her MS from UNMC.
Course description:
Locator attachments are versatile attachments used in prosthodontics that have a variety of applications to improve retention of a prosthesis. This lecture will cover clinical applications, several case illustrations, strengths and limitations to other overdenture and overpartial attachments for natural teeth and implant prosthesis. General practitioners should become familiar with this common attachment and how to replace components as part of regular patient prosthesis maintenance. Hands on experience with components of the system will be provided to demonstrate impression making and replacement of the nylon attachments.
