Biomaterials Research

 

Biomaterials research is one of the fastest growing areas at the College of Dentistry. The arrival of new well-trained faculty, as well as the acquisition of new equipment, has resulted in a surge of activity in this exciting field. At present, research efforts fall into one of four general categories:

 

  1. biomechanics
  2. mechanical and physical testing of biomaterials
  3. biological response evaluation
  4. outcomes assessment (clinical trials)

A fast turn-around time for obtaining test results, as well as low overhead costs, makes the UNMC College of Dentistry a desirable place to conduct research.
