Dental Hygiene Admissions
We are pleased to learn of your interest in applying to the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry Department of Dental Hygiene. We look forward to receiving your application for the academic year beginning August, 2008. Application information is enclosed; the deadline for application submission is February 1.
An application processing fee is required for all dental hygiene program applicants. Please make your $50.00 check/money order payable to the UNMC College of Dentistry and forward to the address printed on the Dental Hygiene Program application fee processing sheet. This fee is non-refundable. If we can be of any assistance to you during the application process, please call us.
The Department of Dental Hygiene accepts twenty students each year for the program at the College of Dentistry in Lincoln, Nebraska and four students for the West Division in Gering, Nebraska.
Application Procedures
Students who have completed pre-dental hygiene study and are ready to apply for admission to the Dental Hygiene Program should use the following forms:

Students are urged to begin the application procedures as early as possible. The College of Dentistry charges a $50.00 application fee. The completed application form, high school transcripts, college transcripts, ACT or SAT scores should be received by the Department of Dental Hygiene by February 1st.
Upon notice of acceptance for admission to the dental hygiene program, a letter of intent to enroll and a deposit of $200.00 are required. The full amount of the deposit applies toward payment of tuition and fees when the student enrolls. All applicants are notified of their acceptance or rejection by the Dental Hygiene Admissions Committee.
Applicants will be accepted who present evidence of intellectual promise and strong personal qualifications, including good moral character and the desire to serve the public. Consideration is given to personal maturity and professional motivation. Students selected must be committed to scholarly pursuits and have career goals compatible with the philosophy of the baccalaureate program.
