EXPLORING

What is Exploring?
Exploring is a national career education program for men and women 14-20 years old which provides experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.

What kind of things will I experience with this Exploring group?
This group will explore those activities specific to dentists and dental hygienists -

  • practicing with dental equipment
  • performing mock dental procedures
  • learning about the various career opportunities in dental health.

Throughout these experiences, the group will participate in community service, leadership, life skills, and character education activities.

Who will I meet in this Exploring group?
This group is run by your peers - in fact, you can become a leader of the group by being elected as an Exploring officer. At all times, the group is supervised by College of Dentistry faculty, students, and by representatives of the local Exploring program.

How much does it cost?
Annual membership is only $10, and covers administrative expenses and liability insurance for participants.

Can parents be involved?
Of course! Involvement by parents is encouraged!

Who can I contact for more information?
