HISTORY

The first session of the Midwest Student Biomedical Research Forum was held in 1970 at the University of Michigan followed by movement of the Forum from school to school in the Midwest region.

In 1988, the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Creighton University School of Medicine agreed to host the Forum for 5 years to provide stability of program content and location to the Forum.

In 1992, a joint proposal was again offered by Creighton University School of Medicine and the University of Nebraska Medical Center to continue hosting the very successful Midwest Student Biomedical Research Forum.

In 1997, these universities proposed to serve as the hosts for the Midwest Student Biomedical Research Forum for the years, 1998-2002. With the commitment by these universities they have managed to run a successful Forum for 18 years.
