Growth of clinical and translational (C/T)

research is UNMC’s top priority.

Over the last two years, UNMC underwent a series of strategic planning sessions, leadership meetings, and faculty focus groups to formulate an institution-wide plan that will foster growth of extramurally funded, interdisciplinary C/T research and a successful CTSA application.

UNMC created the Center for Clinical and Translational Research (CCTR) to bring together C/T investigators across its ”500 mile campus,” along with the NCI-funded Eppley Cancer Research Institute, the Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation, The Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha Children’s Hospital, Omaha Veterans Administration Medical Center (OVAMC), and its University of Nebraska system partners: University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO) and University of Nebraska-Kearney (UNK).

The CCTR provides a structure to link basic, clinical and population-based scientists with community organizations and leaders, while providing centralized resources and developing C/T research education training programs.
