Where did you go to medical school?
Right here at the University of Nebraska-Medical Center

Why did you decide to go into Emergency Medicine?
Emergency medicine was a perfect fit for not only my interests in medicine but for my personality as well. I have always been the person who wants to figure out what's wrong with something in my day to day life. That can range from fixing my own furnace (I don't recommend this) to trouble shooting a computer. Emergency medicine is fast paced and can be very rewarding when you are the first one to make a diagnosis.

Why did you choose UNMC for residency?
Everything about UNMC was a fit for me. The residents are all awesome and somehow the program has always been able to match a great group (this is huge!!!) My class hit it off immediately and I have seen great teamwork throughout the department not only during my Medical School rotation but since my residency started.  Our program is extremely varied with a very busy department, a nice mix of pediatrics not only at UNMC but through our rotations at Children's Hospital, and an awesome facility. You can tell that everyone here is happy and that is an awesome thing to have around you during the stressful times of residency.

Please list your EM interest:
I may pursue ultrasound training after residency but it is still early!

What are your plans after residency?
I would like to stick around the midwest preferably here in Omaha or my hometown of Lincoln, Nebraska.

Why do you like Nebraska?
An easy example to start is Husker football at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Husker fans are known as the best fans in all of College football and there is a reason for this. Nebraska truly does have a caring group of people and if you ask anyone from out of State who has spent time here, they will tell you that it is a one of a kind place that you have to experience to understand. Omaha has a large enough metropolitan area that you will be able to find anything your heart desires yet compact enough that you don't have to drive or ride a train (there are none) for 30 minutes just to get to your favorite restaurant or venue!
