Where did you go to medical school?
University of Minnesota, Twin Cites

Why did you decide to go into Emergency Medicine?
Emergency Medicine was an easy choice for me. I knew early on after volunteering at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis as an undergraduate that EM was what I would pursue as a medical student.  The ER is the front line of medical care and having the ability to make a diagnosis and relieve suffering is incredibly rewarding. EM is the most exciting specialty because it allows interaction with every demographic and the use of amazing technological tools.

Why did you choose UNMC for residency?
UNMC has great residents, staff who love to teach and program directors who care about their residents and program. The program is relatively new and continues to improve each year. It is truly a gem often overlooked in the Midwest.

Please list your EM interest:
I am considering a fellowship in Ultrasound. Ultrasound in the ED is a fantastic tool.

What are your plans after residency?
I am a midwest guy at heart, and I intend to stay in the region.

Why do you like Nebraska?
Omaha is a metropolitan area with a small town feel. The people here are extremely welcoming to transplants. Omaha has a plethora of excellent restaurants, endless bike trails, and great outdoor concerts all summer long. Additionally, Nebraska is in the heart of Big 10 country with Husker and Hawkeye games both within driving distance.
