Dr. Yu-Long Li, MD, Ph.D. is an assistant professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine and a courtesy assistant professor in the Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology. His areas of research include arterial baroreflex control in DM, autonomic regulation dysfunction in heart failure, and oxidative stress in ischemia reperfusion. He obtained his Ph.D. in Cardiovascular Physiology, M.S. in Cardiovascular Pharmacology, and M.D. from Hebei Medical University, Hebei, China. After a brief academic stint (Associate Professor) at Hebei Medical University, Dr. Li did his postdoctoral work at Oita Medical University, Hasama, Oita, Japan, and Department of Physiology & Biophysics, University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, NE, USA in the laboratory of Dr. Harold Schultz, Ph.D.. He joined the Department of Emergency in 2007. An author/co-author of over 70 papers and abstracts, Dr. Li is currently a recipient of the Scientist Development Grant from the American Heart Association.
