Why did you decide to go into Emergency Medicine?
I was one of those medical students who couldn't really decide what I wanted to do. I sort of liked everything but didn't really love anything I did my third year of medical school. I sort of wanted to do everything, so originally I was thinking about family medicine. Then in August of my fourth year I did my EM elective, the skies opened, angels sang, and the rest was history.
Why did you choose UNMC for residency?
I was looking for a place where I could get a great education without sacrificing the fact that, you know, I also wanted to have a life and have fun during residency. The faculty and residents are such a tight community that even in the face of a very busy ER we all find time to enjoy ourselves and have fun.
