Family Practice Residency ENT Elective
A Two to Four Week Elective to Learn General ENT
The emphasis is on clinical adult and pediatric head and neck problems that would usually be seen by the family practitioner.
- Office management of external otitis, nosebleeds, peritonsillar abscess, and oral lesions are discussed
- Nasopharyngoscopy is used for diagnosis of laryngeal lesion and dysphagia
- Workups with algorithms of chronic sinusitis, dizziness, hoarseness, sleep apnea, facial paralysis, and neck mass are reviewed
First day of elective: Please report to Julie Meyers in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, University Hospital 3109 to pick up a syllabus.
The Family Practice resident is assigned to Dr. Barbara Heywood

Monday 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. - UNMC ENT Clinic
Tuesday No Clinic - Academic Time
Wednesday 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. - UNMC ENT Clinic
Thursday 9:00 A.M. to 11:30 P.M. - UNMC ENT Clinic
Friday 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. - UNMC ENT Clinic
Conferences: Monday, Wednesday & Thursday at 7 A.M.
