Residency Program
UNMC selects two residents each year.
ACGME - Five year accreditation by the residency review committee in August 2010
The residency includes:
Five years otolaryngology - head & neck surgery training
The opportunity for individual clinical or basic research
Residents provide services in the following area hospitals:
- Nebraska Medical Center
- Omaha Veterans Administration Hospital
- Boys Town National Research Hospital, Boys Town Institute West
- Methodist Hospital
- Children's Hospital
- Midwest Surgical Hospital
Residents gain experience in the major divisions of otolaryngology - head & neck surgery:
- General Ear, Nose & Throat
- Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
- Craniofacial Anomalies
- Head and Neck Oncology
- Otology/Neurotology
- Care of the Professional Voice/Laryngology
- Rhinology and Sinus Disease
- Facial/Oral Prosthetics & Dental Oncology
- Allergy
- Pediatric Otolaryngology
