Basic science reseach facilities are located in the Durham Research Towers. The Gifford-Truhlsen Research Laboratory offers state-of-the-art equipment and resources to those conducting research of the eye.
Clinical research is conducted at the Eye Specialties clinic at 40th and Dewey Avenue. In 2013, the opening of the Truhlsen Eye Institute will allow for greatly expanded clinical research capabilities.
