Procedures if exposed to blood/body fluid
REPORT ASAP -- Any student with a high-risk HIV exposure should receive post-exposure prophylactic (P.E.P.) medication within the first 1-2 hours after exposure!
All blood and body fluid exposures are to be reported immediately to The Nebraska Medical Center Employee Health, located in Clarkson Hospital next to the gift shop, either in person or by pager.
Off-Campus Blood & Body Fluid Exposure
Any student who experiences a blood or body fluid exposure off campus must call The Nebraska Medical Center Employee Health at the above numbers ASAP and report to the nearest emergency room for appropriate blood and body fluid exposure procedures. On the next workday, the student should call the Student Health Coordinator, Tere Batt, at 402-559-5158 with information regarding the ER visit.
