ER VISITS AT THE UNMC CAMPUS

A student who becomes ill or injured after-hours and requires urgent care may use the UNMC Emergency Room. If unsure of what to do, the student should call 559-4000. Follow-up care is to be completed at the Student Health Clinic (559-7200), or referred from Student Health.

If you have the Macori insurance plan through UNMC, the following applies:

• Referral: Call the Student Health Office at (402) 559-5158 within 48 hours
• Claim Form: Call (402) 559-7276; see the Student Health Insurance website for additional information.

If you have private insurance, charges incurred for ER services will be billed to that plan. Contact your insurance carrier for a claim form.

ER VISITS AWAY FROM UNMC

Students away for academic purposes requiring urgent care should be seen at an area outpatient facility or emergency room. Students covered by the Macori insurance plan should contact the Student Health Office at (402) 559-5158 within 48 hours for a referral and call 559-7276 for a claim form. 

Students covered under private insurance should contact their company for instructions.
