You will be supported by such advanced services as the Air Care Emergency Helicopter Service, permanent high-field Magnetic Resonance Imaging Unit (1.5T), an invasive cardiology program which is part of the Greater Nebraska Heart Center at Good Samaritan Hospital and includes a 19-site clinic network, Comprehensive Neurosurgery and Peripheral Vascular Surgery Services, a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and a nationally accredited Cancer Treatment Program, to name a few. Good Samaritan Health Systems will be able to offer you a diverse medical training environment at its two hospitals ¾ medical and surgical at Good Samaritan Hospital and psychiatric and substance abuse at Central Nebraska’s premier mental health facility, Richard H. Good Samaritan Health Systems is the focal point for an extensive rural outreach program to serve the people throughout Central and Western Nebraska and Northern Kansas. A part of this rural outreach program is the community health clinics operated by Good Samaritan Health Systems in the neighboring communities of Axtell, Shelton, Ravenna, and Loup City. The Ravenna Medical Clinic will serve as your rural practice site and will provide you with experience in your residency program that is not found in many other residency settings.
