IN THE EVENT OF AN INJURY OR ILLNESS
Please follow the procedures below in the event of an injury or illness:
- On campus: If becoming injured or ill while on the UNMC campus, a student should report to the UNMC Student Health Clinic during the next immediately scheduled Student Health Clinic hours (hours and location information). If the Student Health Clinic is closed or the injury/illness occurs during the weekend, a holiday, or is a Medical Emergency, the student should report to the UNMC Emergency Room (and then contact Student Health within 48 hours to obtain a referral). - Off campus: If an illness or injury occurs while off-campus, a student should obtain the necessary treatment and report the visit to the Student Health Clinic (402-559-5158) within 48 hours in order to have the necessary referral issued.
PLEASE NOTE: A student MUST notify Student Health (402-559-5158) within 48 hours of an emergency or hospital release so that a referral for the visit can be issued. No referral will be issued if the student fails to report the injury/illness to Student Health within 48 hours of treatment.
